Today we received a visit from ITV Anglia News to celebrate our partnership with Northampton Town Football Club Community Trust and their work with our children on the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
Mrs Rolph was interviewed by the News programme.
Our school has participated in the programme since September 2018. The weekly visits from our dedicated NTFC Community Coach focus on a structured literacy lesson plan designed with the ongoing help of Headteachers and Ofsted inspectors. The small group sessions focus on reading and are aimed at improving confidence, self-esteem and the overall health and wellbeing of the children.
The Star Readers that have worked hard on improving their reading skills have been invited to attend the Northampton Town vs. Port Vale football match at the PTS Stadium, Sixfields on 30th March.
We have also been invited to compete in a school competition to design and create an eye catching banner to help us cheer on NTFC, on the day. We have given a sneak preview of our banner on Instagram and Twitter but as we're in competition with other schools we don't want to unveil the design until we're going to the match!
We're really looking forward to seeing the Cobblers' mascot Clarence the Dragon and having the experience of going to a professional football match!
