As part of our celebrations for The Year of the Word, the children at St Gregory’s took part in an Enrichment Day based on the parable of The Good Samaritan. After a fact filled assembly, given by Mrs Yuen, which explained how the Bible is similar to a library as it contains so many books, of many different genres and text types and written by a variety of people, the children and their teachers explored the parable of The Good Samaritan from the Gospel of St Luke. In doing this, they were able to carry out the mission we have been set for The Year of the Word: to celebrate, share and live God’s word.
Throughout the day, the classrooms were filled with a buzz and excitement as the children took part in many amazing activities including storytelling, video clips, writing eyewitness accounts, retelling and reflecting on the story, painting, printing and Pop Art.
