At St Gregory's Catholic Primary School, many pupils from Reception through to Year 6 have leadership roles. The children enjoy taking on extra responsibilities and this gives them a sense of belonging. We have a variety of leadership roles, to empower our children and encourage them to lead with confidence.
Our pupil leadership roles include:
- The School Council
- PSHE and Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
- Eco-Warriors
- Science Ambassadors
The School Council
The councillors are made up of one child per class from Reception to Year 6. The School Council represents the pupil voice of the school and have important roles in communication and organisation between the pupil body and the school's initiatives and campaigns.
They are often called upon to assist in duties during the school year, including assemblies and presentations, competitions and fund-raising. They meet regularly to discuss school improvements and make decisions by council vote.
School councillors are elected once a year, in September.
PSHE and Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
The PSHE and Anti-Bullying Ambassadors represent the pupil voice of the school and work closely with the School Council. They meet regularly to ensure anti-bullying is promoted within the school and to lead school assemblies on topics such as anti-bullying week and friendships. They also work closely with their class teachers to ensure PSHE floor books include pupil voice.
Eco Warriors
The Eco Warriors work with everyone in school towards keeping ourselves and our environment green and clean, and to make the world a better place in which to live.
We also have a Pupil Leaders' Newsletter team, who produce a newsletter every half term. Please have a read of their newsletters below.
