In October the school devoted a day to learning about the practises and origin of Judaism.
Year 6 learnt all about the Shabbat and preparations for it. They celebrated their own closing ceremony of Shabbat which is called the Havdalah; by bringing in spice boxes of smells they enjoy and sharing them with their friends, explaining why they are important or special.
Year 5 learnt all about the origins of the Jewish Religion with the story of Abraham and the story of Isaac. They produced a collage of Abraham speaking to God about his promises.
Aleena - 'I learnt that Shabbat is a day of rest and must be kept Holy. I enjoyed celebrating the end of Shabbat with Havdalah because I could share my box of spices with my class.'
Jesse - 'We discussed why we picked our spices in our Havdalah ceremony and presented them to the class, saying why we picked them and why they were special.'
Liam - 'I enjoyed learning about the origin of the Jewish Religion, when Abraham had many children which was promised by God.'
Dylan - 'I love the Judaism Art and learning about the different parts of Judaism.'
