St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School

End of Year Mass

This morning Year 4 were joined by Thomas Becket students from Year 7 and 8 at St Gregory’s Church to celebrate Mass at 10.15am. They joined together to end this school year as a community together in Christ.

Father Andrew Behrens was our celebrant. He talked to the children about living the values of their schools and in this way upholding the gospel values. His quote from the Gospel ‘For my yoke is easy and my burden is light’ helped to explain how living a Christian life fills us with a joy that can help us face any challenges we meet in life.

Miss Jackson and Miss Forrestall formed the band and were joined by Deacon David, much to the excitement of the students! The band played beautifully, including modern worship hymns such as Heart of Worship and My Lighthouse. St Gregory’s pupils sang with their usual enthusiasm and joy and the Becket Choir led Year 7 and 8 with confidence, enjoying the end of year Mass as an opportunity to end the year singing!

Deacon David, a former pupil of St Gregory’s and a local Northampton lad is to be ordained a priest at Northampton Cathedral on Saturday. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
